Nairobi Advice
Hi all — I will be Nairobi in mid July for work for a week. I am bringing my family (kids too) with me as we will go to South Africa from there. It is very last minute that they are coming on this leg of the trip! Like today last minute. Anyway, all of us have been to Nairobi before and on safari in the Mara, Serengeti, the Crater and to Mombasa.
With that said, I am looking to book some excursions in and around Nairobi for all of us and for the family when I am working. I would like to go to Nairobi National Park, the Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Center. Possible Lake Nakuru as well. And any other suggestions.
Anyway, I would like to use a local operator to help book excursions including transport. Who do you recommend? All of my other trips have been 2-3 week large adventures so I would like to use another company.
Amyb, if you are listening, I sent a generic email to Gamewatchers based on your reccomendation. Should I send it to a specific person as well? Also, any other operators.
All others — advice wanted and appreciated.
Thanks all.

Hi Lola, did you let Gamewatchers know how many days/nights? I'm wondering if they do Nairobi-only safari planning. I know they have a camp there but it's usually booked along with other properties elsewhere and may well already be booked for July. That's not to say that they shouldn't at least respond to you. If you don't hear from them, I'd try Africa Travel Resource, they'd be able to throw something together for you in minute. In fact when you hit the ATR website, a chat window will pop up and you can talk to a specialist immediately. It seems straight-forward enough that you should be able to turn this around quickly.

Try Kennedy Muthoka @ Waymark Safaris. I've done several of the day tours on their website plus made up my own itinerary for a few days.
I travelled as a solo female and found Kennedy & his drivers flexible, friendly & reliable.
Waymark Safaris
Kennedy's email is [email protected]
Booking for mid July might be tight but no harm in giving them a try.

We used Kenya Bush Expeditions for our recent trip to Nairobi. One day we took the Elephant orphanage and Giraffe center tour, another day we went to Hells Gate and Lake Nakuru. Titus was our guide for the three days we were in Nairobi. He was fantastic.
