Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year to everyone!

Santa hasn't been too bad to me either - I'm off to Chicago & Yellowstone on Wednesday so lets hope he pulls a few Wolves out of his sack for us too

Season's Greetings to all from a cold and grey London! I went to the Xmas party at my client company last night and when Pete (very kindly) picked me up at around midnight we drove home through the heaviest fog I've seen for YEARS!

Hope everyone has had a great year and that the next one brings you many wonderful things.

We have a few trips lined up for next year: the first is a week in Islay, Scotland to coincide with the whisky festival. We first went at the same time in 2006 and are taking several friends with us this time. Second trip is a week in Wales with a large crowd of friends - we do a similar trip somewhere in the UK every year. Then it's the Kenya and Tanzania trip that will be our first trip back to Africa since 2004!!!! And then we'll end the year with the Antarctic journey which will be magical!

Happy travelling for 2008!

Imelda,
Where in Yellowstone are you staying? Are you going on a wolf tour? We saw the Slough Creek pack in Lamar Valley early last year. Good luck!

Merry Christmas to you all! May Santa have another safari in your stocking for you

Imelda and Patty,
DH and I live 90 miles from Yellowstone and so go there several times a year. You've really gotten a gift if you get to see wolves and/or grizzlies in just one trip. It took us many trips before we saw either!

Happy New Year every body!

Cheers from from sunny, windy Los Angeles where it was a very cold (for us) 42 last night, but Catalina Islad is crystal clear.
We're asking Santa for a trip to Zambia/Zimbabwe next year (if Mugabe hasn't let things slide further into the toilet), and a good Christmas-y city to visit over the holidays. Any suggestions? Santa Fe? Montreal? Venice? Vienna?
Leslie
PS And I promise to do my Botswana trip report for the New Year!

Hi Patty,
I read your amazing trip report on Yellowstone when we started planning this trip - wasn't it you that had those amazing Coyote pictures in a snow covered Yellowstone?? Along with the wolves I'd LOVE to even get a glimpse of a Coyote!
We're staying in Gardiner in the Super 8. We didn't have a huge amount of choice as Old Faithful Snow Lodge was booked for our dates by the time we started planning, also, hubby "needs" to have TV access . We are taking a snowcoach trip in to see Old Faithful though.
We have hired a SUV from Bozeman and a couple of spotting scopes that we are picking up outside Cooke City. We were originally going to do a tour but were recommended to do it on our own and just 'watch for groups of people'
I got reports the other day that two packs - the Druids and the Slough Creek Pack are giving some amazing sightings near the road in the Lamar area so hopefully they will still be there when we get there.....fingers crossed!

That's great to hear, Imelda. The northern area of the park between Gardiner and Cooke City was the most productive for us in terms of game viewing. I'd love to hear more about your trip when you get back. Have a fabulous time!

I'm dreaming of a Khaki Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know,
With smily faces, exotic places and so much wildlife to behold.

(Yeah I know that was corny, but I couldn't resist.)

Wishing you and the ones you love all the best in 2008 and many joyous safaris!

Merry Christmas to all you Africaphiles, and a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful new year to all.

Happy travels to all of you who are on your way somewhere.

Carla, I am salivating over that hot chocolate with Amarula! I can almost taste it.
