I just returned from Kenya last week and stayed at a fantastic camp in the Mara: Offbeat Mara Camp is located just north of the Olare Orok Conservancy to the northeast of the Mara reserve. It is a small, intimate camp with 6 tents spaced far enough apart for privacy, but not so far that you feel isolated. The manager (Penny) and her right hand person (Emma) were the best, as was the entire staff. Excellent (Silver level) Masai guides, gourmet meals (think I gained a few pounds), free alcohol (a big plus), free laundry service. I was traveling with 2 other women and we had a vehicle (open sided land cruiser) to ourselves (with Silver level guide and a spotter). They also have a resident dog (Pumba)--just in case you are a dog lover and have fur kids at home you miss!
Honestly, this camp was wonderful. You don't hear about it on this forum, so I was a bit concerned when it was suggested, but I am so glad we stayed there. Check it out on africatravelresource.com!
