Luxor help: Which VK tombs?

Would appreciate any insight/opinion regarding the Valley of the Kings tombs. So many to choose from!

I am traveling in October 2008 (with a private guide) and would like to have your input in advance...

Many thanks!

It's been a while - but my recollection is only a few are open to the public at any one time. You might just have to see which ones are open during your visit!

Agree with above, only a few tombs are open at any one time.

Suggest from a guidebook, read up on the various tombs which may be of interest. Then discuss with your guide to see which can be visited.

Thank you for the input. It's greatly appreciated.

I do have a Kent Weeks' book, Lonely Planet, etc... and I understand that only a handful are open at a given time, but really wanted to have YOUR fodors.com opinions, if a choice is before me

Will add Ramses IV to my list - & Thank you all!

My wife and I were in the Valley of the Kings in January 08. I don't remember exactly how many of the tombs were open that day but there were quite a few.

We went to see the following tombs:

KV2 Ramses IV, KV 5 Ramses XI and KV 14 Tausert and Setnakht. They were unbelievable.

What's the one with the goddess of the day stretched across a starry sky? Egypt Air uses the stars as a pattern for their airplane carpets? Can't remember whose it was, but it was great.
