Hi Sharon,
Lion Sands is in the southern part of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in South Africa. The Sabi Sand is a great place to see leopards and rhinos, but you would do well to stick with Zambia!
I like to use Sabi Sand as my dessert while using Zambia as my main course. However, this next time (Nov. 2006) I am eating dessert first with the Sabi Sand Game Reserve (Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge), Madikwe Game Reserve (Mateya) and then moving onto Botswana for my main course with 13 nights there. I will have a lot of wonderful properties to share that have not received too much press on this forum.
Looking forward to the rest of your Zambia report and I loved your photos!

I have actually been to Lions Sands in 2003. The lodge very nice. Great rooms/food/service.......game-viewing average. Had great cheetah viewing. Leopard viewing on par with any other in the SSGR. However, the rest of the game (both quantity and quality) was lacking. Very few elephants, rhinos, general plains game (just one glimpse of zebras and a buffalo bull) in a three night stay. Just one glimpse of lions (that explains why the cheetah was there the entire time). I guess the pride moved out of the lionsands traversing areas....
