Hi Judy,

I've hit the library so have been doing some reading and compiling my notes. Then I usually try to condense the notes into a one page Word document for each stop, perhaps with an additional page or two for maps.

We're getting to Barcelona on Nov 3, staying at the Hotel Lleo for two nights. We'll be in Lisbon for two days post cruise, staying at the Dom Carlos Park. Where are you staying?

Often, I Google 'city name tourism', and get good results. Here are some websites I've been to:
http://www.visitmalta.com/
http://www.gibraltar.gi/tourism/
http://www.andalucia.com/
http://www.tourismtunisia.com/
http://www.barcelonaturisme.com
http://www.maribelsguides.com/#barcelona

Up until 15 years ago, we used to get to Boston from time to time; my brother lived in Randolph and practiced law in Everitt (?sp). Is No-Name Seafood still fun?

Hi Andee,
Thanks for the web info. I will check out the various sites that you suggested.
We are staying at the Colon in Barcelona and the Sheraton in Lisbon.
Does your brother still live in Massachusetts? I have not been to the No Name in years, but I know that it is still at the waterfront area. You would not recognize the area since the Big Dig has changed the entire configuration of the waterfront area.
It was miserable getting in and out of Boston during the years of the Big Dig so we have not spent much time in the city. We live about an hour outside of Boston in the Metrowest area. I am familiar with Everett where your brother practiced, north of Boston.
Did he go to law school in Boston? I am a retired parlegal.
Bye for now,
Judy

Hi Judy,
My brother went to Northeastern Law School, graduated in 1975. He died in 1990.
I've read good things about the Colon--I'm sure you'll like it.
Have you cruised on Oceania before? Our first time was in October--loved it!

Judy and Andee, I am considering the Oceana cruise in November. What kind of weather do you anticipate?

Hi Kborn,
I have read that November is one of the best times to go to Libya as it is the coolest. Louise, who recently returned from Libya in April, mentioned that it was not too hot when she was going through Leptis Magna. I am anticipating warm weather with some rain for the entire trip. I guess the best bet is layered clothing, an umbrella and a windbreaker.
What are your thoughts Andee, as you were in the area earlier on another Oceania cruise. This is our first cruise with Oceania.

When we did the Venice to Athens cruise in October, the weather varied quite a bit.

The first few days, it was cool and occasionally rainy. I wore closed toe shoes, socks, long pants, a long sleeved T, someimes a shirt over that and a hooded rain jacket. We worried that we hadn't brought enough warm clothes.

The last few days, we wore sandals, shorts and short sleeve shirts and worried that we hadn't brought enough cool clothes.

There's just no pleasing some people! I agree that lightweight layers are a good idea. My hooded jacket and a small umbrella that fits in my purse (mine's from the dollar store) have really come in handy.

www.weather.com is a good site for finding historical highs. lows, averages and, sometimes, precipitation.
