I think we're all on the same page!
In summary:
The Western Breach has a higher probability of rock falls than the other routes. To best avoid problems, don't climb it at night when you can't see what's coming at you.
Each of the 4 scrambling sections on the Breach are shorter and easier than the Barranco Wall. And since there's little to worry about the Barranco Wall anyway, it shows that the Breach route can also be enjoyed by all!

Tonyz - what company did you use for your Kili hike? We're still researching which route to do and what company to use. I'm leaning toward Shira after all the discussion here!
Thanks for everyone's help and input!

I went with World Expeditions, having hiked with them before. They contracted with African Walking Company. AWC was fine on Kili and I would go with them again for Tanzenia trips. My wife arranged 4 days on the Serengeti with them while I hiked. She liked that as well. However, they also arranged the Mt Kenya portion of the trek (sub-contracting with a local lodge). It was a good trek overall, but there were some food, tents, etc. issues... not bad overall, and nothing that was a health or safety issue, but several modest complaints.
