Kenya/Tanzania - Outfitter in both countries

We (2) are interested in a Safari that includes both Kenya and Tanzania (2 wks. )and would like an Outfitter that does both countries. I want a trip equal to Tauck and Micato (fly - in to maximize game viewing time) and would like to deal directly with an outfitter to reduce costs. I've read on this board that that is the best way to go from a financial standpoint. I do not want to deal with an outfitter in one country that subcontracts to another outfitter in the other country. Small group would be OK and private would be great. I am looking for recommendations. Thank you!

I replied to your post in the other thread http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34827376

There aren't many operators that actually have their own ground operations in both countries. You other option is to contact separate operators in each country which some posters here have done.

Maybe check out Africa Point. Their prices seem less expensive to me, and the main office is in Nairobi (I think). Arrangements available for both Kenya and Tanzania.

Also try to contact Masai Travel. They are based in California. I posted my trip report for Kenya and Tanzania awhile back. The best thing about our trip was we stayed in the same lodges and tented camps and had the same service as those people who booked with Micato and A&K. The big difference is that we were able to save around $3,000 - we didn't have to lose an arm and a leg to enjoy our vacation. Not to mention that they have a very accomodating staff who are always ready to help.
