Just starting to contemplate a safari--pointers please

Michele, I wore a fleece with short sleeved t-shirt under it. I only wore it for early morning game drives until about 8 am and then once the sun was up high enough it was warm enough for just t-shirt sleeves. I also wore it for some late day game drives but not all and definitely for night drives. I was more than comfortable, but remember that I was coming from Boston where it was in the 20s (Fahrenheit) when I left for Kenya. Midday there is downright hot, so I'd recommend bringing shorts and a tank top to nap or lounge around in. A few days in a row I was dripping sweat just trying to take a nap on my bed in the tent!

Thank you Amy. That gives me a much better idea of what to pack. Wasn't planning on a tank since we are going to Cairo after and I won't be able to wear it there, out of respect. We are in the mountains so Feb is our coldest month. A light fleece it is then.
