Jordan and What Other Country?
I am planning a trip to Jordan in July, visiting Amman, Jerash, the Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Musa, and Aqaba.

I have time for one other country, but am not sure where to go. What do you think or what have you done?

Egypt or Israel are probably the easiest.

However, AMMan (via Royal Jordanian Air) is a hub airport for other nearby countries, i.e., Syria or Lebanon.

Do you have any interest in Israel? Jerusalem is a fascinating city and if time allows, the area near the Sea of Galilee is beautiful.

Thank you for your responses so far.

I do have interest in Israel, but thought perhaps I should wait given the current U.S. State Dept. warning. What do you think?

Forget the State Department warning. It will never go away and in the meantime you will be missing one of the most interesting countries in the world. When I was in Israel about a year ago I never once felt unsafe. You'll be fine.
