Headed to Israel and Jordan in late July. Yes I know it will be very hot. We are flying to TLV via Amman.
We have 3 main priorities for the trip and the rest is secondary:
1) Tel Aviv beach/party. I have 5 nights free in a hotel.
2) Jerusalem history
3) Petra
After getting some feedback, I am unsure of my itinerary and have the following options:
Option 1
Day 1 - Arrive late in TLV
Day 2-5 - Relax in TLV
Day 6-8 - Jerusalem
Day 9 - Rent a car, stop in Dean Sea, end up in Eilat/Aqaba
Day 10 - Wadi Rum/Petra
Day 11 - Petra, return to Aqaba/Eilat
Day 12 - wake up early, drive up to Ben Gueron for a 4pm flight

Option 2
Day 1-5 - same
Day 6 - rent car, drive down to Eilat/Aqaba via Mitzpe Ramon
Day 7 - Wadi Rum, Petra
Day 8 - Petra, back to Aqaba/Eilat, drive to Dead Sea, then Jerusalem
Day 9-11 - Jerusalem
Day 12 - free morning, fly out at 4pm

I am leaning towards Option 2 but Day 8 seems a bit insane. I would spend the night at the Dead Sea but hotels dont seem to be available for 1 night (its Friday night).

Thoughts?

the reality is that I don't really have that much time to do everything and we have to limit Jordan to 2 days.

Also...working on a slightly changed itinerary now. Is this better?
Option 3
Day 1-5 - TLV
Day 6-8 - JRS
Day 9 - rent a car and drive to Eilat/Aqaba, stop in Mitzpe Ramon for lunch
Day 10 - Petra
Day 11 - AM Wadi Rum tour, return to Aqaba/Eilat, and drive up to Ein Bokek/Dead Sea by 5pm (less hot)
Day 12 - relaxing morning in Dead Sea, leave at 11:30am to the airport for a 4pm flight

What do you plan to do in Tel Aviv for five days? It is not recommended that you are on the beach approximately 11am-3 PM. Scorchingly hot. Add at least another day into Jerusalem. It is much more than just the "Old City".
