I finally have to final options for my SA trip
Hi Everyone,
A few days ago I had posted a thread in what I intend to do in my first trip to South Africa. Since I am taking my two girls with me I have decided I prefer a malaria free safari and have now decided on choosing between these two different options. I have actually had a co-worker who has been to south africa help me with my trip.

Hello,
I'd definitely recommend the Eastern Cape over Sun City -- it would be a much more real bush experience.
Sun City is more like a giant cross between Las Vegas and a safari park.
Cheers,
Julian

I would recommed Blaauwbosch...we got married there in March and I have to say that the service was unbelieveable. All staff went above and beyond for us and our guests. The rooms are lovely and the food was amazing.

Woud not recommend Sun City - pretty ordinary - why don't you go to Kruger or another game park - malaria treatment is really easy and som of Kruger is non maleria so safe to go - try the south part around Lower Sabi - great experience - we took our seven year old and had a fabulous time - never saw one mosquito

In case anyone jumps to the wrong conclusion, it is worth repeating that the whole of the Kruger Park is in a malaria endemic-zone, and classified as "high risk" from October to May.
Here is the "malaria risk map" (and that site has lots of other info):

Karen, your advice is probably meant entirely in the context of a July trip, when some might argue that the risk is zero or close to it. I'm not one who would say that, I don't know enough about it. And you'll see from that page that the authorities recommend taking precautions throughout the year.
