Help! The tour in Feb. by Tauck to Egypt is booked. My mother has her heart set on it and we both have the dates off work 2/5-2/17, which is hard to change.

Can anyone recommend a great tour company? This trip included a Nile cruise, flights within country and the typical sites.

Thanks, I told her to give me 24 hours to try to get a substitute before she panics.

There have been many recommended on here, all of which sound good. You might look at the OAT itinerary. It's the one we're going with in 3 weeks. www.oattravel.com It includes the things you mentioned, and it has the advantage of being a small group.

While checking the OAT site you might also want to check the GCT trip. Don't know your Moms age or state of health but the last 2 OAT trips I took were very hard on the 75-80 yr. olds. From what I've heard both trips are very good--the OAT version is more physical.

I used Tut Egypt Tours while in Egypt and was very pleased. www.tutegypt.com They do private tours so you can go at your own pace.

Why not call Tauck & see if they can recommend a comparable tour company?

My husband and I just got back from a 2 week private Egypt trip last month and used Egypt Highlights! I could not recommend anyone more. It was a great help to us as our rep Magdy called us every single day to be sure we were alright!!! Nice transportation vehicles and though we added a cruise at the last minute, and didn't ask for a very fancy cruise.. I think they can book you on anything.. we just loved it.

I hope you get to take this trip Egypt was the trip of a lifetime. Our cost with tons of add ons was only $998. pp excluding air.. but we did 4 star hotels and a morning camel ride and the flight to Abu Simbel and all sorts of things. But I think they are very competative. !! have FUN
