Help - Need cheap airfare to Israel
I need to go to Israel for a last-minute wedding in a few weeks. Cheapest non-stop airfare on all the regular sites (e.g., orbitz, kayak) is over $1700. Does anyone know of any consolidators, etc., where I might be able to find a more reasonable fare?
Thanks so much!

Where are you coming from? You could try making a priceline bid, but be adivsed it's not changeable and non-refundable. Also you will not know your flight schedule or the airline until the ticket is bought and paid for. A similar site would be Hotwire. Good luck, please let us know if you find something.

Assuming you are leaving from the US?
I've seen nonstops for November in the $1300 range on kayak--make sure you do a search that allows for checking flights a day or 2 before and after, if that works for you.
Some consolidators I have used, in the past, but not recently --
Elite travel (the one in Badwin,Long Island (NY) not the one in Philadelphia)
Tek travel
Sky 2000
I have no personal connection to any of them, but I also have no idea how good any might be these days. Hope this helps anyway

The OP's other posts suggest she's originating in the NYC area.
It's the "nonstop" part of her wishes that's leading to the high prices. Only LY and CO serve TLV nonstop from New York/Newark.
That said, I'm seeing flights on both airlines in late Oct - mid-Nov coming in at $1150 or less, not $1700. Watch out for weekends or holiday periods.
Everybody else is around $200 less with a stop someplace.

Thanks for all the responses. Yes, I'm coming from NYC. My dates are not flexible at all, which is part of the problem (need to be there for the wedding, yet away for as short a time as possible - need non-stop for the same reasons). I've been looking into Israir, which is about half the price of El Al - does anyone have any experience with them?

I went to Israel with a tour. I booked my own air with El Al because I had a freebie, but the group flew Israir. Nobody said anything particularly bad or good about it. It's my impression Israir is more no-frills than El Al. If you find a good deal with Israir you should probably go for it.

Try Mobissimo:
http://www.mobissimo.com/search_airfare.php
They list fares from 1065 dollars and up.
True, some of their offer are with 1 stop in Europe. But for 650 dollars difference - I would grab it!
