Hi there. Fistly Lesotho is not a great tourist destination so don't go out of your way to get there. Swaziland and the Kruger are within an hour's drive of one another. If you are driving get your route okayed by the Automobile Association (AA) in South Africa. They will advise you on road conditions and provide maps etc. Souvenirs in Swaziland and Mpumalanga (province which is home to Kruger) are identical and are usually carved wooden artifacts. Leave space because a 2 metre giraffe might take your fancy - don't buy at the first place you see there are hundreds.

Don't drive at night if possible because of cattle and wildlife on the roads also be aware of this by day. Food should be purchased outside the Kruger Park at one of the supermarket chains and fruit and veg at a roadside stall which abound. In Kruger spread your booking between the north and south of the park they are different although I prefer north. Buy your malaria pills at a drug store in South Africa they are the best. Lastly have a rave - this part of Africa is my paradise!

I am involved in tourism in Mpumalanga Province and would be happy to assist you if need be. (I am not a travel agent). The driving time between Johannesburg andskukuza in Kruger is about 5-6 hours (515 km or 320 miles). Flying time to Nelspruit is about 50 minutes and two airlines fly in namely S.A Airlink and Metavia. The cost is about R 600 return (perhaps a little more). Hire companies are numerous but among them Avis and Imperial are the most well known. Easter is a very busy time to travel in the Kruger and I would suggest two weeks later after the South African schools have opened again would be better. But beware, malaria is at its most sever in Easter and whilst you do not have to panic or cancel your trip, please use lots of repellants and definitely take the tablets.
