Alcohol in Abu Dhabi hotels during Ramadan
Thanks for everyones help regarding my other topics. I have something else I would like to ask. Do hotels in Abu Dhabi serve alcohol during the Ramadan period? I know there's no problem with this in Dubai but someone told me that Abu dhabi is much stricter. We don't drink much, but do like a glass of wine with dinner.

I would specifically inquire direct with your hotel if they do or don't serve during Ramadan. Would also check whether stanalone restaurants serve or not. If not, I would check whether you can bring your own, either with you from home or if there are places in town where wine can be purchased during Ramadan.

Bcoz of the replies before regarding the hotel we have a provisional booking at the Beach Rotana. I e-mailed them on this question but up until now I have'nt received a reply. I hope there isn't a problem regarding this bcoz I don't think we would feel comfortable bringing wine into a restaurant & probably it wouldn't be acceptable in any case bcoz of the religious aspect.

Thanks for your answers, it was important to us that our holiday wouldn't be affected by Ramadan so clearly Abu dhabi isn't for us during that period. We've been told that the Meridien in Furaija & the Al Hambra Fort hotel in Ras Al Khaimah aren't so strict. However, I have e-mailed both hotels about the sitiation bcoz I can't imagine they would be any different than Abu Dhabi being such small places.
