Hi Cooncat,
It looks like you will have to make more than one trip to Africa. When I went two years ago I thought that would be my only safari, yet here I go again. My first trip was to Botswana, Namibia and Zambia, now to Tanzania and maybe Kenya (TBD), and sometime in the future to Uganda.
I do know whichever destination you choose, it will be terrific. You cannot go wrong. Just accept the fact that one day you will go back to do the others. Pick one SA, East Africa, or the gorillas and work on that knowing that you will someday visit the others. After that initial choice, you still have a lot of planning ahead of you. This reminds me of a "forced-choice" on a test where all the answers are right.
