Finding those FABULOUS trip reports...

As a relative new person to this board, and because I read and REALLY enjoyed Sandi's trip report that she led me too last week, I decided tonight to look for other people's trip reports. I have just spent the last 4 hours searching for as many as I could find - can someone (emphasis on bat maybe with your incredible 'search & find' memory) point me in the right direction for more if I have missed any?
So far I have printed out 189 pages of wonderful reading of the following:
- Sandi's 'Finally-My Trip Report - Tanzania & Kenya'
- JanGoss's 'Trip Report Kenya Aug 05'
- Alwaysafrica's 'Trip Report Part 1-26 Glorious days in Tanzania'
- Lisa's 'Just back from amazing Tanzanian safari'
- JazzDrew's 'Just returned from Kenya/Tanzania' (sidebar question - was there another part to this, it seems not be finished ?)
- 'Patty & Mark's Kenya Tanzania Trip'

Have I missed any not-to-be-missed ones? I should clarify that at this time I will have to limit myself to Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar (the places we will go in May) as even though throughout the 74 pages of Sandi's fabulous report my husband, Jim, did eventually get used to me saying
'huh? Mmmm, Sure, right away, when I'm done.....';
my boss just wasn't buying into that line and I must leave time to work to earm money for this up and coming safari!

What a nice surprise to return home to find that the Fodor's search function is working again!

I'm trying to think who else went to Kenya/Tanzania this year. I think it would be great if we could put together a comprehensive thread linking all of the East Africa trip reports.

For report on southern tanzasnia trip you might want to check out http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34649444
also if you do search on author's name you should be able to get to photos. May be "tacky" to refer to one's own report but wanted to make sure southern Tanzania was covered. Dick

Dick, do you have two screen names???

And tacky? Don't be ridiculous--yours is a fantastic report, very helpful both for real- and fantasy-planning.

gee LyndaS I feel bad--unfortunately that nasty thing called work has kept me busy the last week. I have not even had a chance to look at Patty's pictures yet.
. . . and you gave me such a nice compliment.

But--and here is the beauty of this forum--it looks as if others have helped you --Patty's list is quite impressive and comprehensive and some others have kicked in additions.

You know I think that subconciously I was trying to compensate for Patty's absence during the 3 weeks she was gone and so I spent extra time trying to find past threads for posters. Hey but now that she is back I can slack off

Leely, yes I have resorted to using two screen names rsnyder and Igoustay. When at work and on a break and I wanted to post I could not use home screen name or at least could not figure out how to do so. Shortly, I will be retired and accessing Fodor's only at home. Actually I retired last Jan but was called back to work to tidy up a few things for my replacement. And, such made it possible to sock away $$ for another trip. Thanks for the kudos.

Thanks everyone for all the links, I shall be buried in trip reports for some time to come I should think! And especially thankyou Patty for all of those links, I will be printing them out tonight and add them to my collection - you are awesome! And no Dick, I agree with Leely, it is not tacky to post one's own link and I can't wait to read it - sounds wonderful.
I like Patty's idea of a link to all the East Africa reports, we should start one, that way everyone could add more links as more are posted. We could call it the East Africa Trip Report Index!

Thanks to all of you who have dug though the archives to find those priceless trip reports.

I thoughly enjoyed Sandi's adventure for the first time last night while having a long cup of tea - very transporting. What a great read Sandi - your report was so entertaining, insightful and different - You are truly a great writer.

I am curious however, who has gone where and when and which trip was your fav. - perhaps another thread to indulge those of us who live vicariously thru your travels.

Thanks Sherry.

With the link readily available, I actually got a kick out of the second read of my own trip report. Bear in mind that I have it all in a journal at hands length, but it seemed better from online.

In amongst all of this hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, look for that index on East African Trip Reports coming up on this board sometime today or tomorrow! I am working on it at the moment, I should have the first part of it ready to go soon. I have read about 20 of them so far, and have prepared an index to include the links, the person, the date, the operator and some highlights of the trip. A mini review of the info. As I read more, I will add the same info to the thread...
Thankyou Nyamera and Leely for the additional links, they will all be added too!
