Hello all, there is a slight change in plans, mainly to avoid long distance train/road travel(this is important info for people who want to reach bandhavgarh in a somewhat luxurious fashion) I will leave on the 20th from ahmedabad and take a kingfisher flight via indore to jabalpur(I believe flights to jabalpur from metros like mumbai etc are being routed through indore), reach there at 4 in the afternoon, stay at welcome ITC hotels sheraton narmada jackson for the night, and leave by train narmada express first class A/C A1 at 6:35 early in the morning(the train station is 5 minutes from ITC Sheraton narmada jackson), reach umaria by 10:30, umaria is only 30 km from the mahua kothi, so 45 minutes I will be at mahua kothi
The advantage of this trip, is flight to jabalpur and to avoid the bad roads to bandhavgarh(190 km), take the (first class A/C A1,I have travelled for short trips,4/5 hours on express trains and as long you donnot use the loo and food they are clean and neat) narmada express train to umaria from jabalpur which takes about only 4 hours, which should be good, and in 45 minutes you are mahua kothi, so only 5 hours of travelling time....and the whole day for game drives after lunch....
I had a word with the manager at mahua kothi and they do have free internet for short periods for guests, so I will keep all posted regarding sightings at mahua on a regular basis from mahua
I will be back home by the 26th,
HOPING TO HAVE A GREAT TRIP,
Sonali
