direct from mara into serengeti, via sand river gate.....is it possible

hi.... wanted to know whether it is possible to go from the mara direct into serengeti via the sand river gate, legally or on the sly

SLY but I doubt you find any driver to do this.

I am tempted to suggest to walk ;-)

The Sand River Gate is NOT a legal crossing between Mara/Serengeti. It's closed. There are no border facilities here for Visas.

We crossed here once (having landed at Keekorok airstrip on our way to Cottar's Camp), just to follow a lion pride, but knew we could only go so far before the patrol would be on us.

africalover - it's German - means funster/jester/joker/jokester - all that came up at the dictonary

One or two fodorites translated it to FUN BIRD; I have no clue whether the latter is suitable.
