Yes, I'd love to see more direct flights to Africa from the US. It would help to promote American tourism in Africa and build up that industry on the continent. I'd also like to see more flights within Africa, so as to connect more destinations and give more options. "You can't get there from here" isn't conducive to building a strong tourism industry.

Saw the SAA news report today that they are stopping ATL-JNB in July. Called Delta and was told that I had to wait to be rebooked (I will keep trying as per prev post). I assume it is better to fly SAA out of JFK instead of flying Delta 777 out of ATL(I booked over New Years using Delta miles in business). I have flown Delta Bus/Elite on the 767 before and wasn't impressed. Do others agree? Also, news report states that SAA will start flying a daily Airbus to IAD and stop their 747 service.

Definitely try and stay on SA. Flat seats in business versus uncomfortable US airline seats. I was also booked using miles to upgrade ATL-JNB and managed to get rebooked with upgrades confirmed IAD-JNB.

you talk about "uncomfortable US airline seats"
maybe I have a link which might help you all to choose the most comfortable, or at least the "less uncomfortable" seat on each aircraft:
www.seatguru.com
you have to ask first your airline or travel agency not only the aircraft type but also the exact seat configuration first/business/coach seats and then you select the right aircraft version.
You make your choice or at least the preferred seats and ask for that assignment !!
adeewebstr : nice to hear from you again !! So you leave 18th june until 3rd !!
We leave 12th until 28th june !!
have a wonderful trip with your family !!
