Current Travel Requirements If Double Jabbed
Hopefully someone can put some sense to the confusion that the Government chooses to inflict on travellers every few weeks. Firstly I am aware that we need a PCR test within two days of arriving home in the UK.
My confusion is what sort of test is required in the 48 hours of departure back to the UK. Our flight is due to depart at about 5pm on a Wednesday therefore the test would need to be done after 5pm on the Monday. The only place I have found that offers testing is the Sharm International Hospital however they do not e-mail the results so you need to collect them and that is 24 hours later. Taking the timing into consideration we would need to go to the hospital early Tuesday morning and again on Wednesday morning to collect the results prior to departing the hotel for the airport - very tight deadlines and hardly providing a comfortable end to the break. I have e-mailed the hotel to see if they can provide an "inhouse" service but I am still awaiting a reply.
The question is can a home purchased (Gov approved) Lateral Flow Test be conducted by oneself and the result sent to the provider for a certificate to be produced that will be acceptable to the airline - TUI?
Ploughing through all the information online there is no real clear picture as to what is expected. Test providers refer to Pre-Flight tests however these seem aimed at the holiday maker leaving the UK rather than returning so the whole thing is ambiguous.
If anyone can put any sense to this with links of evidence perhaps it would be extremely useful.
