Corruption Airport in Kenya
BEWARE corruption at the the airport: I was traveling as tourist through Jomo Kenyatta Airport, Kenya. Kenyan Customs officials accessed my consumer grade video camera at 30,000 shillings and then billed me 300 USD. The officials insisted I pay or lose my camera. They also were collecting cash from other US citizens doing charity work. The officials informed me when I leave the country I could apply for a refund with the Kenya Revenue Authority, Nairobi which turned out to be impossible and untrue. The customs officials were Mercy Mugambi #7551 and Christine A Oketch #8360.
BEWARE those going on safari you may have to pay taxes on your cameras or electronics before you can get into Kenya. Shameful! Scam!
