Chapman's Peak Drive (Cape Town) re-opened

After being closed for well over a year, Chapman's Peak Drive, with its great views, has finally reopened.

How nice. It was closed back in July 2008 when I went. Guess I'll just have to go back if I want to see it. It should be in good shape for soccer fans.

Thank you.

My goodness..........how long does it take to clear a rock slide.

I was e-mailing a friend of mine in South Africa... Cape Town and last November ( 2008) he told me that Chaprman's Peak Drive was closed due to a rockslide.

He said it will take months to clear, "the way they do it here."

I thought he was kidding .......but obviously not !!

11 months to clear a rock slide.!!!! amazing !!

( This might be posting twice, I got a message "Link is Broken"!!

And we can go to the Food Barn in Noordhoek more easily when we arrive in December. Loved our visit lastyear, although it was disappointing that, although they featured a 'Bistro' menu, in French and English, our waiter didnt speak a word of English. No point ordering the 'agneau' - we had to revert to English.
