Yes, we went to the zoo (two ladies, mid-50s but we LOVE zoos and try to go anytime a city has one).<BR><BR>This was a unique experience for us . . . we were the attraction. Everyone stared at us and then wanted to have their picture made with us, "will you hold our baby and let us take a photo?" "Will you join our family for a photo?"<BR><BR>The zoo was just full of families and the cutest kids you ever saw. The guards kept wanting us to feed the animals, hold the animals . . . "we have baby lion, just 5 days old, you want hold?" "Come, you go behind rail, I take your photo." "You want to pet tiger?"<BR><BR>I don't think many foreigners visit the zoo. We had a ball and got some great pictures (not from behind the rail and we declined holding the baby lion).<BR><BR>This was one of the highlights of our 2-week, independent Egypt trip.<BR><BR>Sandy

Sandy, you are kidding, right? Hilarious story. Then again, this is Egypt. The Egyptair pilot actually let me sit in the cockpit (me, a tourist) and take photographs on the flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel. This has to be against any international airline codes! So perhaps they would let you hold a baby lion... The zoo sounds fabulous. I'll go next time!

Pam, no kidding, we could have gone in and petted mama if we had wanted! I'm telling you, we were on display more than the animals! <BR> <BR>Go, you won't be sorry, it was a lot of fun! <BR> <BR>Sandy

My SIL took her 2 year old kid there six months ago and said it was dreadful. Lots of exhibits without animals, the animals they did have looked very bored and not very healthy, she said the entire experience was awful, though her child seemed to enjoy it.
