Buitenverwachting in Constantia

I would really love to visit the vineyard and restaurant when we are on our honeymoon. However, we won't have a car so I'm trying to figure out if this is possible with any organized tours that give you a break for lunch or if it would be best to hire a private guide. What would be a reasonable itinerary to include this (for lunch or dinner)? Thanks.

If you are staying in CapeTown, I would guess that you could just take a taxi....

I did not visit, though; we did have a very good lunch, however, at Klein Constantia, which I wrote about in my trip report..

thanks ekscrunchy. your trip report is actually one I've printed off months ago since you seem to have really done your research on the food (and enjoyed yourself!). I didn't realize Constantia was so close, we are staying in Greenpoint so that will be great if we can take the taxi.

I didn't know you could have lunch at Klein Constantia.

Maybe you meant Constantia Uitsig.

Yes, I did mean Constantia Uitsig! We visited both Klein and Groot Constantia and then had lunch at Uitsig!. Since my memory is failing I will have to return to refresh! Sorry!

you will definately love the river cafe at constantia uitsig for lunch!
try the belgian chocolate mousse cake for desert! it's to die for!

you will love the athmosphere there!

they have also got an excellent wineshop. the wines from e.g. meerlust are not more expensive than at meerlust itself!

happy landing!
