I will echo amyb and ekscrunchy's views - safaris are addictive. We got back less than a month ago from Tanzania and I'm already making plans for the next one!
My 2 cents - maximize safari time rather than other activities. That extra night - meaning, extra game drive can mean a fabulous sighting. It's the law of probabilities - the more time you spend, the higher the chances of seeing.....
Friends of ours (I've been raving about safaris....) are doing Madikwe safari lodge in March 2024 and the pix of the lodge look gorgeous. Will be able to share their feedback later.

I absolutely appreciate your input! I am so excited about this trip. And yes, that's why we cut back on Cape Town so we could spend more time on safari.

Update!

First, Happy Holidays to all!
We have pretty much set our trip and itinerary. Here it is:6 Jun 2024 - 4 nights

10 Jun 2024

Own Arrangement
3 nights

13 Jun 2024 Savanna Private Gane preserve - 2 nights

15 Jun 2024 Dulini Leadwood - Sabu Sands - 2 nights

It's that 3 night period of June 10-13 I'm seeking advice. We will be in Cape Town & Stellenbosch.
First, how should we best distribute our time between the two?
Second, recommendations on places to stay?
I realize that the weather will be questionable, and the timeframe short. We really want to know what are the must see places! My friend and I want to go wine tasting for a day with a driver while my daughters explore Stellenbosch.
Before anyone asks, we split our stay in Sabi Sands between 2 places since we couldn't get 4 nights in one place! Thanks in advance for reading, any any input you have to offer.
