Thembi - Thanks for your kind words. Actually there are lots more pics up at the Photobucket Site - there are subfolders entitled according to each camp or area. I just uploaded the VicFalls photos and a video of a dung beetle we saw on the road.

Shay Tay - Muchenje was a very nice surprise since I hadn't seen much about it on the internet. I must give credit where it was due - Celeste from Taga Safaris recommended the lodge, in fact she put together the whole trip, and if it wasn't for her we never would have considered Muchenje.

VeeR - silly me
I have now managed to look at all your photos -what a fantastic trip! Loved the busy dung beetle video.

One thing about your trip report that I felt for you through was the Lion Encounter you ended up with the "wrong" company. Did your TA book that or did you arrange it on arrival? I can understand your conflicted feelings and dismay at finding out that this was not Antelope Park!

Terrific report! We visited Botswana in 2004. I figured by now we'd have gone back, but gosh the world is big. Maybe 2008...surely 2009...sigh. Now I'll check out your pics!

Vee,

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but just came across your trip report and had to say it is one of, if my THE favorite of mine that I have read. You have painted wondrous pictures in my mind. Botswana came to life in my head. I felt like Celie reading all of Nettie's letters in "The Color Purple." ;-)

Can't believe this thing got bumped back up after all this time.
About the Out of Africa store at Joburg Airport - I bought a pile of shawls that had a Made in K... (couldn't read the last letters of the country only hoping it was Kenya not Korea. Also bought the net with beading food covers - these did say made in China but I couldn't find them anyplace else. Two Kaross pillow covers, should have bought more. Then ran out of time - just as well as I had one overpacked shopping bag.
One of my best buys was at Muchenje - they had prints of watercolors done of the Chobe.
We are going back next year. So I have changed my vocabulary from "Wish I had done that..." to "Next time I'm going to do that..."

I will start bugging you all with questions in the very near future!!!
