My understanding is that PVs at Kwando are charged on an "empty seat basis" at $80 per empty seat (assuming 6 seats is full). So if you are 3 people, it will be $240, but if 2 people it will be $320 and if only one it would be $400.
It seems like a fairer way to do it, as if you were, say, 4 people then your chances of getting a PV anyway are pretty high so to pay $450 to guarantee it would be a bit much. Whereas with the Kwando scheme it would be only $160.

Great trip report! So I have a question: where is Hobbs normally a guide, or does he go back and forth from Kwara to Little Kwara? I was just looking at reviews of Little Kwara and he seems to be a guide there - but I know you said you booked at Kwara and only stayed at Little Kwara one night because Kwara was booked that night? I guess my question is, can one request him no matter which of the Kwaras one is booked at?

Hobbs is based at Little Kwara. You cannot request and get him without an additional fee if you are at Kwara Camp. We paid an additional fee for him to be our private guide while we were there. In order to do this you must have a private vehicle as well. If you are at LK however, you can request to be in his vehicle (if you don't have a PV).
