What happened to the Johannesburg Sun & Towers?
Several years ago, I stayed at the Johannesburg Sun & Towers in downtown Jo'burg. It was a large glassy tower and was fairly new at the time. The Southern Sun hotel folks tell me it's no longer a hotel, so I am now curious as to what happened?!

Wow - that is going back a long time. I've asked around and the only answer I could find was that it had been bought by Transnet (the local transportation para-statal) and was standing vacant. Not that I'm surprised, no-one wants to stay in the JHB CBD anymore, and for good reason.
