Anyone done night safari at Tarangire?
I am looking for advice on doing night safari at Mawe Ninga Camp at Tarangire. The offer is for 1 1/2 to 2 hours after dusk with a ranger. If you have done a similar night safari, I'd love to hear your experience, whether its worth $160+ for two persons, etc.
Thanks in advance

Haha, talk about a blast from the past. We did this at Mawe Ninga in 2006 but I don't remember anything about it. Actually, maybe I skipped because I got sick and my traveling companions went on the drive while I stayed in my tent. In any case, I've done a couple night safaris in TZ and Kenya. For me it was always "worth it" because what else would I be doing in the evenings other than resting? So I'd say it depends on your perspective. What's worth it to me might not be worth it to you.
Sorry not to be more helpful. I loved the view from the tents at Mawe Ninga. Safari njema.

Yeah, 2006 is long time ago. My thinking is ..Its not like I can go there on a routine basis....its just once a life a time opportunity. Perhaps we can see nocturnal wildlife which are less talked about. As long as I am there, why not make best use of time and take a chance?
We will arrive in Mawe Ninga camp well before evening and will stay there for two nights. I am sure we will be tired on the second evening with all the safari travel, so we will go for Night Safari on the first night. We were told it will be in a vehicle and probably last for an hour. Who knows, if luck favors us, we might see the predators in their natural behavior mode! (Lions, Leopards, etc).
