Hi all I am on a trip around the world with my husband.we are currently in Athens Greece and need malaria pills before heading into Africa specifically Tanzania.only a few more days here then in September we will be traveling into Egypt, Jordan, and Israel then into Africa in October. Can I get malaria pills in these places and what is the protocol for a foreigner. Are there travel clinics like in the states or what route do I need to take, and what is the approximate cost? I tried Doctors Without Borders here in Athens yesterday but they were of no help. Any advice is much appreciated thanks in advance.

Ask a pharmacist. Pharmacies in European countries have more authority to make recommendations than in the US. If they can't sell you what you need without a prescription they can point you in the right direction.

By the way, depending on where you're going in Africa, you may be required to have a yellow fever vaccination. Sometimes, even if not required in the country, you may need proof of it to enter some countries after you've left.
