You are required to be at the airport at least 3 hours before the time of your flight.

Which Hilton? Tel Aviv? 20-30 minutes during non-rush hours. Double it (at least!) for 7 - 9 am or 4-7 pm.

BTW - That is Is-ra-el.

For a 5:30am flight I would be at Ben Gurion at 3am. No need to be there earlier at this early hour, and yes, taking a cab there would be about 30 minutes from the Hilton on the beach.

You could spend some interesting time in their many tax-free area shops.

And BTW, Israel isreal...

At the Ben Gurion airport duty free shops....do you know if they sell any Israeli wines? any Israeli jewelry? I know they have a lot of products from the Dead Sea Spa area.

thanks.

Several duty free shops have plenty of wine.
what kind of jewelry? There are shops for Michal Negrin (high end, victorian looking stone costume jewelry) and several branches of H Stern (VERY high end fine jewelry--diamonds, gemstones, etc)
I think i saw some cheaper 'touristy' souvenir jewelry at the Steimatzky book and gift shops

AlexA...

Thanks for the information, AlexA.

Michal Negrin is very nice. I was also thinking about Ayala Bar and Laly for jewelry.

I also like to bring home an interesting bottle of wine from wherever I travel....something that is special and wouldn't be available in the US.

Thanks again.

I was leaving on Sunday night - the ride was 1/2 hour from Tel Aviv seaside, and yes, 3 hours needed for a check-in.

(working on the report)
