1 Extra Day
We have put together a great trip to Southern Africa and find that we wind up with one extra day. We thought that we could do one of the following:
1. A second day in the Winelands
2. A second day at Bushmans Kloof
3. A second day at Victoria Falls
any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Dear Kavey;
Here is our trip so far:
Arrive Joburg evening of April 21
Leave for Mala Mala on April 22 and stay until April 25th
Leave MM and arive in Capetown early evening on the 25th
Capetown-April 25-28th
April 29th Drive to Bushmans Kloof and stay overnight
April 30th Drive to Winelands and stay 2 nights
May 2,3,4, Jack's Camp
May 5,6,Xigera or Vumbura
May7,8, Chitabe
May 9, Vic Falls
May 10 Vic Valls to Joburg to home
Technically, every day is accounted for.The "extra" day is Bushmans Kloof.
I think I am rushing too much. Should I eliminate Bushmans Kloof and spend more time in the Winelands, or at Vic Falls? Due to flight schedules, we only have part of an afternoon, evening and 2 hours in the morning at Victoria Falls. I could also eliminate 1 night in the Winelands and then go to Bushmans Kloof.
I'm uncertain about what to do. I don't want to just brezze through everything.
Appreciate your thoughts.

Depending on where you are staying, I would elect to stay an extra night in Victoria Falls. There are other worthwhile activities besides seeing the falls, and even if you are seeing the falls, if you have the opportunity to do so, you should see them from both the Zambian side, as well as the Zimbabwean side.
The other option would be to extend Mala Mala by one night.
It seems that if you were to omit Bushmans Kloof that you would still have your two nights in the Winelands. Because you are moving around so much on this itinerary, I do think it is important to have as many 2+ night stays as possible.
Therefore, of all the options, I would say that omitting Bushmans Kloof and adding the extra night in Victoria Falls (at the right lodge) would best serve your itinerary. Instead of having two destinations with single night stays, you would now not have any destinations with a single night stay.
Where are you thinking of staying in Victoria Falls?

Since you'll be changing locations frequently, I would agree with Roccco and would add the extra day at VF so you can relax for an extra day. Even if you don't do much more than have tea on the terrace at the VF Hotel and do some shopping, it would at least be an unstructured free day without a lot of running around.
There is also a lot to do at VF, on both the Zim and Zambian sides, and if you want to be active, you won't have any problems keeping occupied in VF.

Actually I had misread and thought you had two nights at Vic Falls not just one. Given that travel always eats into sightseeing time more than it should I'll change my recommendation and put the extra night at Vic Falls too, as Rocco and Michael have suggested.

Dear Mollybee
Your addittional day would depend on what your interests are and where you would like to spend more quality time. I would proberbly suggest that a second day in Vitoria Falls either White Water Rafting or perhaps some time with the elephants would be a very well spent day. However Bushmens Kloof is absolutly superb and they have the new Spa which is the best place int he world to relax and take time out. If you need more info e-mail me and I will help you! - Debbi
