A small travel habit that made my trips better

Over the past few trips, I started keeping a small travel notebook, and it actually made the experience much more memorable. I jot down little things during the day — a restaurant I liked, a funny moment, or even the weather that morning.
When I look back later, those small notes bring the whole trip back much more vividly than photos alone.
I'm just curious—does anyone else keep travel journals or similar habits when traveling?

I keep detailed notes, and then use them for trip reports. I gave my niece a journal when I took her to Europe several years ago and plan to do the same with my nephew for our upcoming trip in May to keep notes for himself should he choose.

I also use a pocket spiral bound notebook to track expenses and activities.
