2 or 3 prong adapter?

For Kenya, Tanz. (including Zanzibar): I've sorted out the converter/transformer/adapter thing- so that is NOT what I am asking about. I'm asking about ADAPTERS only. I've seen 2 prong adapters, 3 prong ungrounded adapters, and 3 prong grounded adapters. Please advise. Thanks,
Jess

Hi Jess15,
We used the 3 pin grounded adapters the same as we use in the UK - No problems

Most places in both Kenya & Tanzania use the 3/prong, as found in the UK. However, when on ZNZ, I found a few of the resorts/hotels used the 2/prong, as used in France. That's why I bring my entire kit... you just never know.

Thanks everyone - that's very helpful. I'm in France often, so I know I have that one and have used it for my camera battery. I either have, or will get, the others.
But my Mobal international phone comes equipped with an array of 2-pronged - think this will work? I'd assume they know what they're
doing.(?)

The 3 rectangular prong UK type is what you need in the majority of cases in Kenya/Tanzania http://www.world-import.com/images/3-prong-uk.jpg

On rare occasions, you may find the 2 round pin continental European type.

The International Electrical Supplies website also shows a 3 prong grounded plug adaptor that has round holes, instead of rectangular....it says both are used in Kenya. Has anyone needed the round hole type...we already have the rectangular version.

As Patty said above, some places take the 2 round prongs. I've also found this to be the case. Take both with you.

Barefootbeach,
I've never brought a 3 round prong adaptor to Kenya and have not needed one.
