2 bed or 5 bed chalets in Mpila

My wife, my daughter and myself are going to stay a couple of nights at Mpila in August (if not Nselweni), and need to choose between either two 2-bed chalets or one 5 -bed chalet (the tents are gone). I hear the views are best from the 2-bed chalets - are they that much better that we should choose the 2-bed over the bed?

How old is your daughter, Jerry? (I'm assuming she's a baby or toddler, right?)

As I remember, the best views at Mpila are from the benches on the lawn, not specific to any chalet. But it's been a long time since I've stayed in the chalets; on our last visit we had a safari tent, which we loved.

I stayed in a 5-bed chalet last year, good quality, views were good from all of them, but there's about 10 metres of lawn and bushes in front so for details you really need to get up from the lazy chair (and use binoculars to spot ellies in the river). Note Mpila did not have a fence last year (they may have added one) so stay in or near to the house at night - we had hyenas sniffing around the braai. I remember the 2-bed chalets looked very small. Mpila has a very basic shop and no restaurant, so bring everything you need.

THanks. The daughter is adult, and we have booked a 5 bed chalet.

Jerry, you'll have a wonderful time, I know!

The shop at the other camp, Hilltop, has some things that Mpila doesn't have, but as I remember, not much in the way of meat and vegetables, so jeroenvm's advice is good.

Hyenas DO hang around the braais, because, contrary to all rules of the park and of good sense, some people do feed them. Shame on them. (The people, not the hyenas.)

(I just now see that in the original post, you were talking about two 2-bed chalets, not one. That's why I assumed your daughter was a baby. Sorry.)
