Work in Saudi Arabia?
My step-son is a manager at a small (60 person) specialist oil-field related environmental service company. His company has been asked to help a company in Saudi Arabia in setting up an environmental biotoxicity laboratory. It would be a wonderful economic opportunity for both my step-son and his company, but his company is trying to make a decision based on how safe it would be for their employees. Has anyone worked or traveled to Saudi Arabia recently?

It's safe as long as you don't break any of the religious rules. Women have to wear total covering -- you can't be out walking during prayer, etc. The ex-pats live in compounds which exempt you from these rules. You make great money.

Hi, Saraho,
as with all of these sorts of places, there are pros and cons.
yes the money is great and most people who work there survive the experience with no problem.
However, the biggest draw-back for me is that you don't only need an ENTRY visa, but an EXIT visa. so if they did have any problems with the locals, leaving might be difficult.
