Hi -- We're planning a beach vacation the week of July 4th, and we can't seem to decide where to go. It's narrowed down to these three choices: Pensacola Beach, Gulf Shores, and Destin. Mostly, this is because we're unsure of how much hurricane damage any of these places may have sustained. Of course we would like a beautiful (relatively uncrowded)white sand beach and a nice hotel.Restaurants nearby would be a plus. Any thoughts about Springhill Suites in P-beach, Phoenix All Suites in Gulf Shores, or Holiday Inn on the beach in Destin? Thanks so much.

We stayed at the Hampton Pensacola Beach with our 3 kids three summers ago (pre-hurricane). It was a very nice hotel in an excellent location. Two nice pools, tiki bar, nice free breakfast, private balcony facing the gulf and walking distance to everything! The beach was very nice at the time, but like I said, this was before the hurricanes hit. If things are at all rebuilt, I'd highly recommend the Hampton. We also enjoyed the area -- zoo and Naval museum were highlights.

Destin is a great area. Try Miramar Beach near the outlet centers. The beach is wonderful and easy to get to,and for the kids, a waterpark, goKarts, mini golf, and all kinds of water sports. You will have a great time.
