DFW-how long to get thru immigartion to enter US

How long does it generally take for a US citizen to clear customs and immigrations returning from Mexico back into the USA? I have less than 90 minutes to make a connnection. Will this be enough time? Thanks!

Probably, if your flight from Mexico to Dallas is on time. I'd try to get a seat near the front of the plane to be able to disembark as quickly as possible. If you can travel with only carry-on luggagem that eliminates one step. You still have to go through passport control and customs, then back through security to get to your boarding gate. The DFW Skylink train has two stops at each terminal, so that lessens the time it takes to get from terminal to terminal.

Personally?

The 20 times or so that I came into DFW from abroad, it took less than 10 minutes. I'm usually the first one of the plane, walk fast and don't have any checked-in luggage. Once through Immigration and customs, I take the escalator and through the security in another 5 minutes. Never had any issues, problems, delays....

but, DFW just opened a new D International terminal. I did not have a chance to check it out yet. The reports I hear from other FFlyers are all good. According to them, it takes less time.

That does not mean ANYTHING! You may arrive at the wrong time, with 10 other international flights, you may have immigration or customs question you, there may be a long line to get through security again, etc, etc....

That said, with 90 minutes you should be fine. Don't worry about it.

Enjoy your trip!
