Kansas City Here I Come.....

I am staying at the Sheraton Suites on the Plaza. Has anyone stayed there recently? The pictures look nice on the website, but I would like a more personal review.

The hotel is about 15 years old and was once a Marriott. It's a reasonable value. Rooms were large for the era when it was built, but are pretty average by current standards. They're showing some wear as of 6 months ago. I'd rate the rooms the same as a 5-10 year old Embassy Suites.

I concur with the poster above but am not sure it was ever a Marriott. I believe (could be wrong) it was always a Sheraton. Regardless, it's a pretty average Sheraton with a pretty good location. You can easily walk the Plaza and/or to Westport from your hotel. In addition, it's a short cab ride to Union Station / Crown Center / Liberty Memorial area. Enjoy!

We stayed there two years ago and liked it a lot. We only stayed one night and didn't use the pool, but we enjoyed it. Bigger rooms than your typical hotel room, of course, and the location is great!

The Sheraton Suites was built by the Marriott Corporation and was named Marriott Suites when it opened. They sold the property to Sheraton after only a couple years. There are still a handful of Marriott Suites around the US with similar style.

I definitely recognized the Sheraton as being an older Marriott when I entered my room. There's a Marriott Suites in Lombard,IL where we hosted our family reunion a couple of years ago and the layout of the room was identical. I worked for Marriott while in college and still like them, presumably because of the familiarity of their properties. My room at the Sheraton Suites was comfortable and the location was perfect! Thanks for all the information.
