Madison Square Garden - pre game dinner options?
I have a club level seat to a Knicks game so I can get into the Garden's Bar & Grill two hours prior to the game. Would that be a good choice or should I eat 'off site'? I know the Grill is probably expensive, but would it add to the 'experience' since I've never been to the Garden before - this is sort of a bucket list thing.
And it doesn't need to be gourmet in any way since I'll be having a very nice dinner and a special lunch other days.
Oh - and what about a good lunch spot the day I'm taking the Staten Island ferry and visiting the World Trade Center site?

Just want to add that MSG has recently restarted their tours of the facility. tours were unavailable for about 2 yrs while they were undergoing renovations. My husband went a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. You might consider that. the info is on the website.

Coopers Tavern at the New Yorker Hotel is across the street from MSG. We go there when we are anywhere around Penn Station/MSG. Very nice bar and restaurant, good service, solid food, not fancy but comfortable and good.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll check them out - right across the street sounds good especially if the weather is rotten.
No one mentions the Bar & Grill in the Garden itself. Does that mean it isn't very good, or just that no one's eaten there?
Also any lunch recommendations in the general Battery Park/Staten Island Ferry/World Trade Center area.
