Lisbon Airport Stay or Not
My flight to Lisbon is scheduled to arrive at 11:30 at night, Even if it arrives on time from Madrid, I am wondering if there is enough time to get to Lisbon center by public transportation at that time of the day; about 12:30 am. I understand the public transportation stops running about that time. If I make a reservation at a hotel in the city center and take a taxi to get there, I think I am better off staying at a hotel near the airport using the taxi fare+. What is the approx. taxi fare to the city center from the airport?
Also, I do not mind staying in the airport 4-5 hours until the public transportation begins to run in the morning if I could, but most airports do not have a place to stay or linger after arrival.
Any suggestions?

Even with surcharge for luggage and night fare rate, I doubt you can spend more than € 20 for a taxi ride to any centrally located hotel. Probably less.
I think I paid around € 18 - in the afternoon rush hour.
Seriously not worth considering to stay near the airport, IMO.
