We are traveling from Phoenix AZ to London in September of 2015 and were told by Expedia Travel thatt American Airlines is the only a/l that travel s non-stop from AZ to London. Really?

No, it's British Airways. Expedia is showing the AA codeshare number, but it's a BA plane and crew, and yes, it's the only nonstop from PHX to London.

Thank you so much for the quick response Gardyloo, air travel and which sites to book from can be so complicating. Do we book straight through the airline or book through Expedia or any of the other sites??? I see so many different opinions.

I always book directly with the airline. Booking through third-party sites can make for complications if there is a problem with your flights (a missed connection, a schedule change, etc.).
