BA Check in at Paddington

Does anyone know if you can still check in for a British Air flight at Paddington when you take the Heathrow Express? I know you used to be able to do this, but don't know how much they've cracked down since 9/11.

Also, I read something about clearing immigration on BA flights if you've got a direct flight from the US. Anyone know about that?

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi fairfax-

Looking at Heathrow Express's website, it does not appear that you can check in for a BA flight at Paddington.
The airlines which one can check-in are:
Air Canada
Austrian Airlines
Singapore Airlines
bmi
Varig Brazilian
LOT
Lufthansa
Thai Airways
SAS

I'm not sure what you mean by "clearing immigration on BA flights if you've got a direct flight from the US". There are no immigration officers on the plane...
They do hand out "landing cards" during the flight for passengers to fill out.

They stopped that after 9/11. At least that's what I was told when I asked about it in October.

Funnily enough, i read about the immigration in the Frommer's London 2004 book, but hadn't seen it anywhere else. I generally don't go to the airport from London, so don't use H-row express. Checked their site, but couldn't find anything (or didn't look in the right place!).

The Heathrow Express is a great way to get to the airport. Isn't it a shame that the national airline doesn't allow check in?

None of the airlines do it. I always fly United--I never fly BA because the customer service is so bad, and they never feel the need to clean the toilets.

They ended the service last summer which is a shame because it was really convenient.

The service still exists, but only for the airlines that yk has listed.
