Colosseum Underground Tour
I just used this website to prebook our tickets to enter the Colosseum which we plan to visit on Saturday June 28th.
http://www.coopculture.it/en/colosseo-e-shop.cfm
This ticket allows us 48 hours entry into Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palentine Hill from the moment we first use the ticket.
What I want to do is make a reservation for the Underground Tour the same day we visit Colosseum and I have tried several times to call the call centre listed at the bottom of the page and have had no luck. I am happy I have the entry tickets prebooked, but I would love to prebook the Underground Tour before we arrive as well so we can avoid a long lineup.
Anyone have any thoughts, ideas or tips?

What is the description of "no luck"?
No one answers during supposed business hour in Italy?
Someone answers, but tickets sold out?
I did this last year and I used the phone number listed on the web site.
Unless they changed the setup, the Underground Tour, if you can book it, INCLUDES the entry to the Colosseum, Forum, and the Palatine Hill and of course the guided tour. When you claim your ticket at the advance purchase window at Colosseum, you get the entry ticket plus an underground tour sticker you put on you clothes.
When I booked the tour in September, they showed the availability online, but did not allow me to buy online. About a week ahead, desirable time slots were taken. A day or so before, all the the English tour slots were taken. If you don't have a reservation, it might not be a matter of waiting in queue -- there may not be any slot available.

We recently visited the Colosseum and had been unable to book the Underground tour through the Colosseum as we we unable to get an answer on the phone when we called from the US (it rang and rang and then we were on hold until we were cut off), and by the time we called while in Italy, the English slots were gone. Our Coloseum tour guide said that you can simply ask a security guard to escort you down there - no tour but you can look around. There may be a minimal charge for this even though he didn't mention it. We didn't do it as my knees couldn't handle any more steps by that point in our travels. Even if you can't do the underground tour, do pay the small charge for the official English tour which is offered multiple times each day. We just paid for it on the day we went into the Colosseum. I think that tour times are on the official website. You can also pay for a tour of the forum which would have been helpful. We used an audio guide but I prefer a live tour guide.

I was finally able to get through to customer service but unfortunately the underground tour was sold out for June. So I booked the regular colosseum guided tour for 5 euros.
I read that the colosseum floor is under construction so I wouldn't be able to go out there anyways.
drchris - I may look into that. If I can just get entry into the underground area via security, that would be good enough for me!
