Sardinia and Corsica

Sardinia and Corsica
We're going cycling in Sardinia in mid May, starting in San Salvatore Sinis and working our way down the west coast to Pula.
We have 5 days after the bike trip and wonder what's the best use of our time: exploring more of Sardinia - the north perhaps? We know that mid May is not prime beach weather.
Should we try to fit in a couple of days on Corsica? Apart from being French, is Corsica dramatically different from Sardinia in terms of scenery and experience?
Five days isn't much time to work with, but it's all we've got and we want to use it wisely.

I lived on Sardinia for two years but always looked forward to my visits to southern Corsica. The terrain, culture and food is different from Sardinia, seeming greener and more diversified. Corsica is less arid with far more forested vegetation.
The ferry to Bonafacio leaves from west of Palau, Sardinia. Consider a counter clockwise route north to Breva Pass and the village of Zonza across to the west coast, returning east to the ferry. The Hotel du Tourisme in Zonza is an excellent value for money hotel with a swimming pool with a view if it is warm enough. The higher elevation affords cooler temps and better views.
I am sure you will enjoy your visit to Corsica and will likely regret not having spent more time on the island.

Alghero! Spanish flavor with narrow cobbled streets within medieval walls and many fine restaurants, especially if you like seafood.
Bit pricey, but consider the Hotel Cataluña with a top floor balcony overlooking the old city, park and the sea.
The road across northern Sardinia to & from Olbia, is quite scenic and pastoral. The more northern route along the ocean is winding and slower but affords good ocean views and takes you to your ferry to Corsica. Bonne Vacannes!
