Change of name on e-iticket booked on Eiffel tower official website
Hi,
I just booked two tickets on the official website of Eiffel tower at a single shot. Both the tickets have my name, one of which was meant for my sister! Can they change the name on the ticket? Or do they actually check the ticket with an identity proof to verify the name?

Kavitha - i just did a dummy purchase for 2 tickets on the official website as far as i could go without actually paying any money! and so far as I can see, there is nowhere where they ask for anything but the name of the purchaser of the tickets. they don't ask for anyone else's names - therefore it doesn't matter what the name on the ticket is, so long I think as the purchaser is present. [and that probably doesn't matter either - like adrienne says, they haven't got time to check the ID of everyone with an e-ticket].
PS - when you've got a query like this, it's a good idea [and good manners] to post the link to the website you're asking about. here's the one for the Eiffel Tower for future reference:

We are about to head to Paris this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows the status of the elevators? Any suggestions as when to get there so the lines are (as short as they get there!) Best/worst day for lines? Also where to go right from the start. Never been there before and am kinda of a travel newbie so any help/tips is appreciated. PS We want to go all the way to the top

I bought tickets on their site as well for a visit a few months ago. I bought two adult and one child ticket, not certain at purchase time which adults would actually take her - ended up being my FIL and his wife. Had my name on it as purchaser but they did not check when they took her.

sasman - have a look at the website. when i last looked only one lift was working, and they are saying that all bookable slots are full for weeks to come.
you need to look to see if they are allowing people who haven't booked to go up at all - if they are, it'll be a loooooong wait.
try the Tour Montparnasse - shorter queues and you get a view of the Eiffel tower. La defense is said to have great views as does the Arc de Triomphe.

I heard anyone can still go up, just that the lines move very slowly for obvious reasons. Anyone have any tips as to what day would be best/what time to get there/where to line up etc? We're flying in this Sunday and one way or another my wife has to go up...#1 on her bucket list!!
