Hello,
Can anyone tell me if I will have trouble getting a visa at the airport in Nairobi, as my flight is arriving at 1:20am? Should I get it before hand?

You should be able to get it at airport on arrival. Wait is usually in 30 to 60 min range. Find visa form online, download, fill out and have ready.

It's completely standard to buy your visa on arrival. Most passengers do. No photos required (you'll be computer-photographed on the spot). Download, print and fill in the visa form from your Kenya embassy or high commission website. In recent visits I've waited 15 mins or less.

Immigration/Visa is open for all incoming flights regardless the hour. So as above, purchase on arrival.

thanks Sandi, Do you also know if we will be able to get visa's at the Namanga boarder crossing into Tanzania?

Yes, absolutely.

Sure can. But remember you need to have the Yellow Fever inoculation and proof of same for entry to Tanzania from Kenya.
