Honeymoon Help? Luxury resort taste on a budget :)

My fiance and I have been searching the internet for honeymoon ideas in the Caribbean and we have come across a ton of resorts that are amazing, but we need to keep our 7 day trip under $5k. We are not big on the Sandals idea but we prefer adults only. More than anything, we want a beautiful beach and yummy food/drinks without breaking the bank. We have been to Aruba and want to try somewhere new! Turks & Caicos? BVI? We aren't super interested in the Bahamas, Jamaica, Mexico or the Dominican...am I being too high-maintenance? Help! Thank you for any advice you can provide!

Welcome to Fodors ashunc. You will get more help if you re-post on the Caribbean Forum (see the 'Change Forum' pulldown menu?)

A few folks do post on this board but it is more generic and the destination boards get much more activity/traffic from those who know their 'stuff' . . .

You might try St. Martin/St. Maarten.

I stayed in Tortola (BVI) in June and rented Palm Grove Villa. Spent a little over a thousand for a week's worth of lodging. It's very secluded, up the hill from Long Bay Resort with gorgeous views. Tortola was fantastic and we had tons of fun there. We also took a ferry over to Virgin Gorda and snorkeled, plus rented a sailboat (with a captain--unfortunately can't remember his name right now!) for $300 and went over to Jost van Dyke. It was one of my favorite vacations!

Friends of ours had a birthday celebration on St. John and absolutely loved the island and the house that they rented.
